Sialon Ceramic SIALON

SIALON is a novel ceramic material formed by the solid solution of silicon nitride (Si3N4) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3). Its full name is silicon-aluminum-oxygen-nitride ceramic. Sialon ceramic tools, fabricated on this base material, combine the high toughness of silicon nitride with the high hardness of aluminum oxide. Designed specifically for machining difficult-to-cut materials and high-temperature cutting applications, these high-performance tools are widely used in modern machining processes.

SIALON is a novel ceramic material formed by the solid solution of silicon nitride (Si3N4) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3). Its full name is silicon-aluminum-oxygen-nitride ceramic. SIALON ceramic tools, prepared based on this matrix, combine the high toughness of silicon nitride with the high hardness of aluminum oxide. They are high-performance cutting tools designed specifically for machining difficult-to-cut materials and for high-temperature cutting applications, and are widely used in modern machining processes.

Suitable for high-speed dry cutting of high-temperature alloys, titanium alloys, hardened steels, and wear-resistant cast irons.

Features and Applications:

Possesses excellent wear resistance and toughness. Is widely applied to rough milling and semi-finishing milling of high-temperature alloys.

Grade: CS35

ISO: K35; S35

Features and Applications:

Compared with whisker ceramics, possesses superior flaw resistance. Therefore, enables high-feed and high-depth-of-cut machining, achieving efficiency improvement. Demonstrates outstanding performance in scale removal machining of Inconel. Also suitable for end milling.

ISO: K40; S40

Features and Applications:

The material most suitable for scale removal machining and interrupted cutting of high-temperature alloys and cast iron materials.
