Slotting is a machining process in which a slotting tool is used to cut grooves of a specified width and depth on the outer circle, inner bore, end face, or step of a workpiece.
Cut-off machining is a special form of groove cutting, in which a cut-off tool is fed radially into the workpiece until the workpiece is completely separated from the raw material or blank.
Includes: external circular grooves, internal bore grooves, end-face grooves, and parting off.
